AIWORLDING

AIWORLDING is a local-first AI roleplay engine built to push long-form roleplay as far as possible on your own computer.

AIWORLDING is a desktop environment for deep interactive roleplay: custom roleplay markup, persistent memory, lorebooks, branching conversations, quest and inventory mechanics, character state, narrative control, and smart context workflows powered by semantic retrieval.

The goal is simple: make AI roleplay feel less like prompt management and more like a living world.

What AIWORLDING Is

AIWORLDING is built around the idea that serious AI roleplay needs more than messages.

A good roleplay session needs continuity. Characters need memory. Lore needs structure. The world should be able to track what happened, what changed, what quests are active, what items exist, who knows what, and how the current scene connects to the wider story.

AIWORLDING is an attempt to turn that into a real local desktop system.

Local-first roleplay

AIWORLDING runs as a desktop application. Your roleplay workspace, characters, lore, settings, and story data are designed to live locally on your machine.

External model/provider behavior depends on your configuration, but the application itself is built around a local-first workflow instead of a hosted service.

Smart memory with RAG

Long roleplay breaks when the model loses track of context.

AIWORLDING is built around semantic memory and retrieval workflows so relevant lore, previous events, character details, and world information can be brought back into context when they matter.

The goal is not just a bigger prompt. The goal is smarter context.

Custom roleplay markup

AIWORLDING uses custom roleplay-oriented markup and service tags to give structure to narrative output.

This enables the app to distinguish narration, speakers, mechanics, world events, inventory changes, quest updates, and other roleplay-specific signals instead of treating everything as plain text.

Current Release Status

AIWORLDING is currently in an early public release stage.

This release focuses on the Windows desktop build. Features, packaging, and platform support may change as the project evolves.

macOS and Linux builds are not available in this release.
