Layout behavior

Desktop retains the two-column hero with the 3:4 portrait card on the right, a maximum width of 460 px, scoped border/radius/shadow treatment, and no forced height matching or animation dependency.

At 900 px and below, the same WebP stacks below the text in normal flow and uses a CSS-only 4:3 crop at object-position: 50% 62%; at 640 px and below, the crop becomes 6:5 to control hero height while retaining the central report and writing hand.

QA

• Exact source bytes, MIME, dimensions, ratio, size and SHA-256 verified.
• EN and RU tested at 1440, 1280, 1100, 1024, 900, 768, 430, 390, 375, 360 and 320 px.
• Old numbered-circle hero component removed.
• Meaningful six-step article-body visual preserved.
• No H1/image overlap, document-level horizontal overflow, opacity/reveal dependency or console errors.
• Hero image returned HTTP 200 with image/webp and remained 89,056 bytes.
• Favicon, metadata, CTA, author block/photo, canonical, hreflang and Article JSON-LD preserved.
• Locked article content round-tripped byte-for-byte; only hero markup and stylesheet links changed in the two HTML files.
