Hi! I'm Florian, developer of the TeamTalk VoiceOver Client — an open-source Python (wxPython/PySide6) TeamTalk 5 client built specifically for VoiceOver (macOS), NVDA/JAWS (Windows), and Braille display users.
Project: https://github.com/fla-rion/TeamTalk-VO-Client
Why I'm reaching out
SoniFight makes games accessible to blind players through sonification. Our client makes voice communication accessible to blind users. These go hand in hand: blind gamers often coordinate through TeamTalk voice channels — community play sessions, game commentary, team coordination.
We'd love to connect with developers building accessible gaming tools.
About our project
TeamTalk is a voice communication system with a strong blind/VI gaming community. Our client provides:
- Fully accessible UI (VoiceOver on macOS, NVDA/JAWS on Windows, Braille display support)
- TTS notification engine for events
- Channel management, file sharing, admin tools — all screen-reader accessible
- Open-source Python (wxPython/PySide6)
The connection
Many blind gamers who use SoniFight-compatible titles are also active on TeamTalk servers. An accessible gaming tool + an accessible communication tool = a more complete blind gaming setup.
What I'd love to discuss
- Cross-promotion: Would you be interested in mentioning TeamTalk as a communication option for blind gamers in your docs or community? We're happy to do the same.
- Shared community: Are there blind gaming communities or forums where both projects might be relevant?
- Collaboration ideas: Any interest in joint documentation around accessible gaming + communication setups for blind users?
Thanks for building SoniFight — it's exactly the kind of work that makes gaming accessible. Would love to connect.
