MicDeck sends sounds from your computer directly into your microphone input. You can play sound effects, music, or system audio through voice chat platforms like Discord. It acts as a bridge between your computer's audio and your voice applications.
Visit the official MicDeck download page to get the latest version of the software. Find the section labeled Releases on the right side of the page. Click the link for the latest release. Look for the file ending in .msi or .exe under the Assets heading. Click this file to start your download.
MicDeck runs on Windows 10 or Windows 11. It needs a modern sound card that supports standard Windows audio drivers. You should have at least 4GB of memory and a stable internet connection if you plan to stream audio. The software uses minimal processing power to ensure your games and voice apps run without lag.
After the download finishes, open the file you saved. Follow the prompts on your screen. The installer asks where to save the files. Use the default location if you are not sure. Once the bar fills, the installation ends. Find the MicDeck icon on your desktop or in your Start menu. Click it to launch the app.
When you first open MicDeck, it scans your computer for audio devices. You see a list of microphones and speakers. Select your physical microphone as the input device. MicDeck then generates a virtual microphone. This virtual item acts as the bridge for your audio.
Open your voice app, such as Discord. Go to the User Settings menu. Navigate to the Voice and Video tab. Under Input Device, select the MicDeck Virtual Microphone. This tells Discord to listen to the audio stream created by MicDeck instead of your actual microphone hardware.
The main window shows your dashboard. You can add sound files to your board by clicking the Add Sound button. Select any common audio file like .mp3 or .wav. You can assign hotkeys to these buttons. Pressing your chosen keys during a chat triggers the sound clip. Your friends hear the clip through the virtual microphone stream.
You can also route your computer's system audio. Toggle the System Audio switch in the app. MicDeck captures the sound from your open windows or browsers. This lets you play music or video audio through the same virtual microphone channel. Use the volume sliders in the app to balance the volume levels. Keep these levels low to prevent distortion for other listeners.
If you hear no sound, check your Windows Sound Settings. Ensure your input device is set to the MicDeck driver. Review your voice app settings to confirm the correct device selection. Restart the voice app after changing settings to apply them.
If the app feels unresponsive, close it via the System Tray. Right-click the small icon near your clock and select Exit. Open the app again to refresh the audio engine. Keep your Windows drivers updated to maintain performance.
MicDeck processes audio on your local machine. It does not send your voice data to cloud servers. The app uses optimized code to keep latency low. You should not notice any delay in your audio output during normal use. The software remains quiet in the background while you play games or talk with friends.
