Paste breaks and never replaces extended pistons #2956
I am using a version of WorldEdit compatible with my Minecraft version.
I am using the latest or recommended version of my platform software.
I am NOT using a hybrid server, e.g. a server that combines Bukkit and Forge. Examples include Arclight, Mohist, and Cardboard.
I am NOT using a fork of WorldEdit, such as FastAsyncWorldEdit (FAWE) or AsyncWorldEdit (AWE)
Bug Description
Basically when I use the paste command it tries to replace extended pistons with another extended or non-extended piston but instead I see break particles and the piston just never replaces.
Expected Behavior
It should be able to replace it correctly instead of just dissapearing

I looked into this a bit in game. It appears to happen anytime a piston head attached to an extended piston is replaced with a piston head (or any block except air). Not sure if it's relevant but vanilla fill/setblock doesn't have this issue unless the head is replaced by something other than a piston head.
edit: tried again with air and it broke the piston, not sure what I did the first time

This seems to be caused by
WorldEdit/worldedit-core-mc/src/main/java/com/sk89q/worldedit/coremc/internal/CoreMcWorldNativeAccess.java
Line 169 in dca1073
Which causes the piston head to destroy the piston base (see
net.minecraft.world.level.block.piston.PistonHeadBlock#affectNeighborsAfterRemoval)Potential fix is checking if the block has changed before calling
affectNeighborsAfterRemoval, which is what vanilla does.
