Why

  • v0.5.7 npm test failed 2 checks: Test 34 widened projectRoot past GATE_PROJECT_ROOT (server correctly refuses), and macOS /var vs /private/var partition compare.
  • Users misread Savings: n/a and persistentCache: false as Gate bugs.

Changes

  • src/test.ts, scripts/qa-multi-repo-proof.mjs: scope env for Test 34; canonical cachePartition compare + QA regression assert.
  • README.md: "What Gate compresses — and what it does not", "Reading gate_session_stats" field tables, "Pin Node in mcp.json" for NODE_MODULE_VERSION errors, limitations rows.
  • docs/AGENT-HARNESS.md, DELEGATE-PLAN.md: harness + verified results; React demo planned only.

Verification (Node 22.21.1)

  • npm run build exit 0
  • npm test exit 0 — 49 passed / 0 failed, multi-repo QA passed, adversarial failedCount: 0
  • node dist/main.js doctor --strict exit 0 — all PASS

Test 34 widened projectRoot past GATE_PROJECT_ROOT, which the
server correctly refuses; scope the env to the AlgoTrading root
for that test. On macOS, /var resolves to /private/var, so compare
cachePartition against the canonical path and assert it in the
multi-repo QA script to stop regression.

Adds agent harness doc and delegate plan with verified results.
Users read "Savings: n/a" and persistentCache=false as bugs. State
that Gate only shrinks its own tool results, document both scopes of
gate_session_stats fields, and give an absolute node + main.js
mcp.json recipe for NODE_MODULE_VERSION mismatches.

Plan React full-read vs compress demo in DELEGATE-PLAN (not built).
CI acceptance failed on new advisories (critical proxy-addr, high
sharp/ip-address/fast-uri). sharp is exact-pinned, so consumers only
get the libheif/librsvg fix through a release. Bump hono/qs overrides
and refresh the lockfile; npm audit --omit=dev is clean.

Canonicalize the acceptance fixture root so macOS /var vs
/private/var does not fail local qa.
