Summary

  • Replaces docs/og-image.png (1200×630) so link previews match the Orbit site from docs(feat): redesign the site around a live ASCII orbit #97. It now shows the ASCII planet with its default, personal and work moons and rings, drawn by the page's own WebGL engine. Around it: the codex-profiles wordmark with the half-disc, the headline Your Codex profiles, one click away. in Inter Tight Light, and ~/.codex · ~/.codex-personal · ~/.codex-work in IBM Plex Mono. It's monochrome: ground #080808, ink #ECECE8, no accent colours.
  • Rewrites scripts/og-image.html, the card's source, for the new design. It doesn't copy the engine. At render time it reads the engine from docs/index.html and freezes the clock at 608.8 s. At that moment all three moons sit clear of the planet and the headline, and the light faces the viewer. If the engine's clock line ever changes, the frame prints an error rather than rendering a different scene. The headless Chrome command in its header regenerates the PNG.
  • Updates og:image:alt and twitter:image:alt to describe the new picture. The og:image and twitter:image URLs and the 1200×630 size are unchanged.
  • Adds a changelog line under ## Unreleased.

Before / after

Before After
Before: old light-on-dark card with a terminal panel After: ASCII planet with default, personal and work moons and the headline

Testing

  • node test/site/geo-test.mjs: passes. It reads the PNG's real 1200×630 size against og:image:width/height.
  • make check: passes, including ShellCheck.
  • Viewed the PNG at full size and downscaled to 600×315. The headline, wordmark, path caption and moon labels stay crisp and readable at both sizes.
  • Pixel check: the background is exactly #080808, and no pixel's chroma is above 5, which is the ink's slight warmth.
  • Ran the documented Chrome command from a clean temporary profile. Its output matches a Playwright render of the same source except for 0.2% of pixels: the shader's random glitch glyphs.
  • File size is 104 KB, up from 79 KB.

Scope and compatibility

  • Affected scope: project website only (docs/, scripts/og-image.html). No CLI, app default or Desktop profile changes.
  • Compatibility impact: none. Image URLs and dimensions are unchanged. Link previews update once Pages is redeployed, which is the maintainer-run workflow dispatch; this PR doesn't deploy.

Checklist

  • I ran make check; if the environment lacks ShellCheck, I ran
make test and documented the missing lint result instead.
  • I did not add code that reads, copies, prints, parses, uploads, compares,
or migrates auth tokens or ChatGPT cookies.
  • Desktop changes preserve the stock app default session and use the
original signed app bundle. (No Desktop changes.)
  • I did not claim that CLI and Desktop account equality can be inspected or verified.
  • I updated documentation for user-facing behavior changes.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

The link preview still showed the old light landing page. Redraw it from
the site's own WebGL engine: the ASCII planet with its default, personal
and work moons, the wordmark and half-disc, the hero headline in Inter
Tight Light and the three Codex homes in IBM Plex Mono, monochrome on
#080808.

scripts/og-image.html reads the engine from docs/index.html at render
time and freezes its clock at 608.8 s, a moment where all three moons
sit clear of the planet and the headline and the light faces the viewer.
The headless Chrome command in its header regenerates the PNG.
