Summary

  • k8s/high-command/objectstore.yaml: Barman Cloud plugin ObjectStore high-command-postgres-rustfs writing to s3://rke2-backups/cnpg/prd-apps/high-command-postgres/ on rustfs (https://rustfs.dataknife.net:30292), gzip, retentionPolicy: 14d. Also a ScheduledBackup high-command-postgres-daily at 09:30 UTC, method: plugin.
  • Cluster: enables the plugin as WAL archiver.
  • README: backups, checks, restore; a note on Helm's two-way patching of custom resources.

Context

Follow-up to #13, which adopted the Cluster/Pooler. Plugin installed via DataKnifeAI/gitops-core#7, and the same setup is already running on coder-postgres (DataKnifeAI/gitops-dev#7): first backup completed, ContinuousArchiving=True.

Rollout notes

  • cnpg-backup-rustfs secret already created by hand in high-command.
  • Adding the plugin injects a sidecar, so CNPG rolls the instances (replicas first, then a primary restart). On coder this meant about 45s without a DB for clients.

Made with Cursor

Barman Cloud plugin ObjectStore (14d retention, gzip) with WAL
archiving and daily ScheduledBackup at 09:30 UTC.
