What's new

  • Launching Secondary Monitor Stutter Fix while it is already running now reopens the existing settings window instead of displaying an error or starting another instance.
  • Handles activation requests safely even while a background-started instance is still initializing.
  • Corrects the DWMfix attribution to acknowledge its existing multi-monitor support while clarifying this application's persistent hardware identities, reconnection handling, and automatic recovery.

Installation

Download and run SecondaryMonitorStutterFix-Setup-1.0.3.exe. The installer is self-contained for 64-bit Windows, requires no separate .NET installation, and does not require administrator privileges.

Secondary Monitor Stutter Fix 1.0.2

This Windows tray application works around a Desktop Window Manager issue that can make motion on a secondary monitor look uneven even when the media player is presenting frames correctly.

It keeps a tiny, nearly transparent animated composition surface on each selected monitor. The core technique was discovered through the MIT-licensed Arccalc/Dwmfix project and was independently reimplemented here in C#/.NET with multi-monitor support, automatic recovery, saved settings, and tray operation.

Installation

  1. Exit any older Secondary Monitor Stutter Fix instance from its tray menu.
  2. Run SecondaryMonitorStutterFix-Setup-1.0.2.exe.
  3. Select every monitor that should receive the workaround.
  4. Keep the default Standard, 120 Hz, and synchronization-off settings initially.
  5. Optionally enable Start automatically when I sign in.

The installer is self-contained for 64-bit Windows, requires no separate .NET installation, and needs no administrator privileges. Automatic startup uses the current user's ordinary Startup folder. Uninstall through Windows Installed Apps.

Closing the settings window leaves the fix running in the notification area. Choose Exit from the tray menu to stop it completely.

The application does not change HAGS, refresh rates, drivers, display topology, power settings, or the registry, and it does not access the network.
