Hello to anyone reading this!

This is my stopgap solution for the VRChat video thingy not working, so feel free to use it or tinker with it if you want to make it better!

It works really well so far with livestreams or videos from any sources, and should work on ANY vrchat video player, so have fun with it!

I wrote this in about 10 minutes (Like 7 were trying to figure out how to put emojis in the damn thing to make it easier for people in a rush to read)

Instructions:

1) Download Python 3.14.3 (NOT THE MANAGER Download FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T DO THAT ONE)

2) Install python, and when you see an option for a toggle box labeled something like "Add Python to PATH" make sure that mf is clicked otherwise you're in for a lot of troubleshooting

3) Extract the File you're reading this from onto your desktop or anywhere convineient.

4) Open the file explorer, then from the file explorer, click on the file path and type out "CMD"

5) Once you're in, run this command first:

pip install yt-dlp

6) Let it cook, then after that you should be all good to go!

7) For getting a URL to paste into VRChat, you'll want to type this out:

python get_stream_url.py YOURURLHERE --copy

The "--copy" command at the end will automatically copy the link into your computer, so alls ya gotta do is chuck that thang into the vrchat link receptacle(?) and hit enter, then it should work!
