Generated files ignore the target repository's formatter and validators #83

Description

@CompleteDotTech

Status: Verified during the Pick Your AI rollout (reproduced, or read directly in the code).

Part of epic: Epic: Make README generation safe for existing repositories.

Summary

The website repository's CI runs prettier --check on every file; the generated README, showcase.yml, PROMPTS.md and sidecar JSON failed it until formatted by hand with the repo's config.

Evidence

  • format · lint · typecheck · contracts failed on the first PR push and passed after running the repo's Prettier on four generated files.
  • A session also reported the card SVG exceeding the 30,000-byte lint budget (31,307 bytes); not re-run.

Impact

Every rollout PR can fail the target repository's own CI.

Proposed fix

Detect formatter and editor config, format generated text, and print the repo's declared validation commands as a preflight.

Acceptance criteria

  • With a .prettierrc* present, generated text files pass prettier --check.
  • doctor lists the repo's own validators as not run or run.

Tasks

Each task below is a sub-issue.

Prior work

Prior work: open PR #20 (opt-in --allow-t3 and the Pick Your AI family), open #7 and PR #13 (variant J badges), merged PRs #14 to #19 (icon art-direction path, UTF-8 output, registry-free org health and label planning, Windows test portability, footer URL repair) and closed issues #8 to #12. Nothing here duplicates those; where an item is already handled it is linked, not refiled.

Fresh VM verification: not run. Findings were verified on a Windows host; hosted CI is separate evidence.
