If you find any mistakes, unclear passages, or omissions in the Coastal Dynamics Open Textbook, we would greatly appreciate it if you report them by opening a GitHub issue. All feedback is welcome, from minor typos and formatting problems to larger ambiguities or inconsistencies. When submitting an issue, please include sufficient detail, so we can understand and address the problem effectively.
New issues are labeled “triage” and reviewed by the authors. After review, the status will be changed to display how the suggestions will be or are processed. Once the suggestions are included in a new version, this is also indicated.
Since our Coastal Dynamics Open Textbook is web-based, we can make updates periodically. Below is a record of changes since its initial publication as an open textbook (January 2021). If the edits are minor, the version number increases by 0.1. If the changes involve substantial updates, the edition number increases to the next whole number. The e-book always reflects the most recent version and is available for online use and free download from the TU Delft Open Textbook repository.
When the version number increases by 0.1, students can continue to use their hardcopy of the previous version, as long as they copy the most important changes in their printed book. For Version 1.2, an e-book with changes markup is available for download. It provides an overview of the most important changes and corrections in Version 1.2 since Version 1.0. Less critical changes are not tracked.
