One-script installer for MetaTrader 5 on Arch Linux using Wine.
Handles the common pain points automatically:
- Installs
wine-stagingandwinetricks - Configures an isolated Wine prefix with Windows 10 mode
- Fixes the "a debugger has been found" error via
nocrashdialog - Installs Microsoft Edge WebView2 (required for MT5's UI)
- Fixes DPI so the MT5 interface isn't cut off on 1080p displays
- Creates a launcher script and desktop entry
- Arch Linux (or Arch-based distro)
[multilib]enabled in/etc/pacman.conf- Internet connection
git clone https://github.com/CianDonlan/mt5-arch.git
cd mt5-arch
chmod +x install.sh
./install.shAfter install, launch MT5 with:
~/launch-mt5.shOr search MetaTrader 5 in your application launcher.
- A fresh Wine prefix is created at
~/.wine-mt5, separate from your default~/.wine - If you have a HiDPI display (e.g. 4K), you may want to adjust the DPI value in the script
- Tested on Arch Linux with Wine Staging 11.4
