Implement Data Persistence & Database Module
closes #12
Description
Create a comprehensive data persistence module that provides reliable storage, query capabilities, and data consistency for the entire application. This module manages all database interactions and ensures ACID compliance where needed.
Direction
This module should provide:
Transaction support with ACID guarantees
Optimized query patterns for common operations
Data migration and versioning support
Backup and disaster recovery mechanisms
Connection pooling and performance optimization
Data validation and constraints
Audit trail for sensitive operations
Support for sharding and horizontal scaling
Acceptance Criteria
All data is persisted with ACID guarantees
Query performance is optimized with proper indexing
Database migrations are version-controlled and testable
Backups are automated and verified regularly
Disaster recovery RPO < 5 minutes, RTO < 15 minutes
Connection pooling reduces latency by >40%
Data constraints prevent invalid state
Audit trail captures all modifications to sensitive data
Sharding strategy supports 10x growth without redesign
Unit and load tests validate performance targets
Documentation includes schema diagrams and ER models
