Lifelong Opportunity Guides

Free, practical career and education guides designed to help people of all ages, abilities, backgrounds, and income levels explore realistic pathways to work and lifelong learning.

Created and directed by: Alberto “Al” Leiva

Languages: English, neutral Latin American Spanish (es-419), and Brazilian Portuguese (pt-BR)
Current collection status: 2026 controlled revision complete and merged to main

2026 controlled revision — complete

The Guides 00–100 controlled revision was completed and merged into main on August 23, 2026.

  • 101 of 101 guides are closed through Publication PASS and Release Audit PASS under the project’s evidence-supported release standard.
  • 95 guides use the later helper-backed control schema with recorded Publication + Release Audit PASS and zero blockers.
  • 6 earlier-schema guides (01–06) retain their historical publication records and now also have evidence-supported legacy-closure reconciliation records mapping completed work to the final release model.
  • Final recorded blockers: 0.
  • 303 controlled PDF edition links were validated: 101 English, 101 Spanish (es-419), and 101 Portuguese (pt-BR).
  • Missing linked PDF files in the final collection QA: 0.

See the Guides 00–100 Release & Change Log for the exact recorded version, change summary, most important improvement, and direct English/Spanish/Portuguese PDF links for every guide.

See the Release & Change Log QA record for the final collection validation results.

What changed in this revision

The 2026 revision was not a simple file-format refresh. It applied a controlled, evidence-based revision process across the guide collection. Depending on the occupation and the evidence available for each guide, the revision work included:

  • refreshing occupation, wage, training, safety, regulatory, and pathway information using current authoritative sources;
  • expanding opportunity pathways for the United States, Canada, and Latin America, including Colombia-specific pathways where relevant;
  • revising and freezing controlled English source content before localization;
  • producing or reconciling neutral Latin American Spanish (es-419) and Brazilian Portuguese (pt-BR) editions;
  • strengthening evidence traceability, terminology consistency, structural parity, live-link validation, and occupation-specific technical QA;
  • improving plain-language readability, accessibility considerations, disability-support guidance, and responsible/ethical AI guidance where appropriate;
  • validating DOCX and searchable PDF publication artifacts, metadata, checksums, and rendered-page evidence under the applicable guide workflow;
  • recording Publication and Release Audit outcomes instead of treating file existence alone as proof of completion;
  • preserving historical QA records and earlier-schema evidence rather than rewriting project history; and
  • consolidating obsolete recovery/diagnostic automation while retaining reproducible publication and QA controls needed for the final collection.

Versioning note

The collection does not force every guide into one artificial version number. Each guide retains its own evidence-supported recorded version and revision history. The Release & Change Log is the authoritative collection index for the current version/status of each Guide 00–100.

Complete guide library

The repository contains 101 guides, numbered 00 through 100. Every guide has:

  • English DOCX and searchable PDF
  • Latin American Spanish DOCX and searchable PDF
  • Brazilian Portuguese DOCX and searchable PDF
  • guide-level navigation and quality records appropriate to its revision schema
  • controlled revision and publication evidence preserved under the repository’s project/revision records

Browse the complete catalog, review the final release/change index, or begin with Guide 00 — Foundation Guide.

Important quality distinction

File availability does not automatically mean that an edition is an exact line-by-line translation or that it received independent human linguistic review. The controlled revision does not claim independent human certification, certified translation, accreditation, professional licensure review, legal/medical/safety/accessibility certification, guaranteed funding, guaranteed employment, or guaranteed income unless an individual guide explicitly and verifiably states otherwise.

Consult each edition’s metadata and the quality records under project/ before making claims beyond the evidence recorded for that guide.

Project mission

This project helps people investigate realistic education and career paths using plain language, accessibility, ethical AI guidance, free-first learning options, employer-supported education, and clear warnings against guarantees or predatory programs.

The guides are designed for students, career changers, older adults, people with disabilities, workers seeking advancement, families planning education, and community organizations helping people find opportunity.

Core commitments

  • No employment, income, admission, funding, licensing, or promotion guarantees
  • Free and low-cost learning options before expensive programs
  • Careful review of accreditation, licensing, contracts, repayment terms, and total cost
  • Accessibility and disability-support guidance
  • Ethical, private, and responsible use of AI
  • Verification through current official sources
  • Plain language and practical next steps
  • Preservation of source, QA, publication, and release evidence appropriate to each guide’s revision history

About the author

I am Alberto “Al” Leiva, and I began this project at age 70. My experience with dysgraphia and the autism spectrum helped shape its accessibility focus.

ChatGPT assisted with research support, organization, editing, translation support, document preparation, QA workflow support, and release documentation under my direction. I remain responsible for the project’s content and editorial decisions.

Important notice

The guides provide education and general career-planning information. They are not legal, tax, medical, immigration, financial, licensing, or individualized professional advice.

Requirements, wages, employment outlook, credentials, costs, benefits, regulations, and available programs vary by country, state, locality, employer, and time. Verify important decisions through current official sources and qualified professionals.
