🛡️ Emergent Trust Boundary (ETB) AAV Framework

Founder: Justin Schomer | Caseit2u2 Secure Labs

Neutralizing exploitability at the root through architectural boundary validation.

🔄 Automated Ingestion Schema & Multi-Hop Detection

The framework includes a standardized data model to export architectural violations to vulnerability management systems.

2. Architectural Mitigation Protocols

  • Zero Implicit Trust Barriers: Strict parameter checks applied natively at entry points inside etb_gate.py.
  • Input Canonicalization Rules: Enforcing strict schema boundaries to break multi-component execution chains before they parse.

▶️ Quick Demo (structural validation)

Run the included script to see ETB in action:

python3 demo_etb.py # Expected output: 2 emergent chains detected (see Proof of Concept below)

🛡️ Complete Invariant Matrix (Pre‑Execution Validation)

Category Invariant Example Blocked
Structural Alignment Request must contain '=' and be ASCII Raw binary payload, non‑ASCII characters
Protocol Bounds Value must not exceed domain limits Modbus write 150 (max 100)
Computational Loop Caps State transitions bounded; infinite loops rejected 3n+1 (Collatz) attack
Consensus / Byzantine Quorum required (e.g., 4≥3 signatures) Unauthorized state change

All invariants are enforced before execution – no trust without validation.

Proof of Concept: PFTT Case Study Validation

The ETB AAV LayerZero scanner successfully detects emergent chains across trust boundaries. Below is a live scan output from the PFTT (Permanent Facility Testing Tool) case study, demonstrating how CWE-77 chains into CWE-347 and CWE-94 across three distinct trust zones, resulting in full system compromise.

[*] Initializing LayerZero Trust Boundary Mapping...
[!] Trust Boundary Crossed: Update_Daemon (Zone 1) -> Bootloader_Parser (Zone 2)
[ALERT] Emergent Chain Found!
└── Path: Update_Daemon (CWE-77) ===> Bootloader_Parser (CWE-347)
    └── Impact: Privileges leaked via match on 'local_shell_access'
[!] Trust Boundary Crossed: Bootloader_Parser (Zone 2) -> Kernel_Space (Zone 3)
[ALERT] Emergent Chain Found!
└── Path: Bootloader_Parser (CWE-347) ===> Kernel_Space (CWE-94)
    └── Impact: Privileges leaked via match on 'arbitrary_binary_execution'

[*] Scan Complete. Total Emergent Trust Boundary Violations Found: 2
