Closed

Description

@matbrgz

Tracking issue for adding more generators, picked from jamstack.org/generators.

Selection criteria:

  • Actively maintained.
  • Roughly 1k+ stars, or the main generator for a language not yet in the matrix.
  • Builds static HTML from Markdown, AsciiDoc or similar content. Client-side renderers (Docsify), archived or abandoned projects (GitBook CLI, React Static, Gridsome, Scully, Sapper) and non-content frameworks (Remix, Fresh, Slate) are left out.

Already covered or in progress on chore/modernize-2026: Hugo, Gatsby, Jigsaw, Nikola, Jekyll, Nanoc, Middleman, Metalsmith (handlebars and nunjucks), Zola, Astro, Eleventy, Hexo, Next.js export, VitePress, Pelican, MkDocs.

    All 46 generators are on master: generators.json lists 63 (BenchCommons/tools-benchmark#24 bumps the submodule). Further generators get their own issues.
