BasileChretien/README.md
Basile Chrétien. Pharmacologist, PhD candidate at Nagoya University, open tools for research integrity. In a Results sentence, “Of 4,000 reports, 312 described hepatic injury”, the number 4,000 is flagged as unbound, then a line traces it to results.cohort.n_reports and it is marked as checked.

Pharmacologist (PharmD, MSc, MPH) and PhD candidate at Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine. I work on drug safety and pharmacoepidemiology, and I build free, open tools for the way research is written, checked and credited.

Research interests: pharmacovigilance and pharmacoepidemiology, research integrity and reproducible manuscripts, open research information, and medical education.

Currently: a PhD at Nagoya University on machine-learning-driven adaptive problem-based learning in psychopharmacology, a Franco-Japanese collaboration funded by Nagoya University (2025–2029).

Languages: French, English, Japanese.

What I build

manuscript-guard: every number in a scientific paper traced to its source. Python, MIT licence, alpha. SigmaCV: an academic CV built from the public research record. Live at sigmacv.org, Apache-2.0 licence.

Open Editors Plus: who sits on academic editorial boards, 922,097 positions across 15,168 journals. Live at openeditors-plus.org, CC0. CaNaMED: cross-cultural medical-communication workshops between Caen and Nagoya. Problem-based learning platform, alpha.

A terminal running manuscript-guard check on its worked example. The check fails because 4,000 was typed into manuscript/main.md by hand and is not bound to any source. The line is changed to {{results.cohort.n_reports}}, check runs again, and reports 0 failing, 12 warnings.

manuscript-guard on its worked example: a number typed by hand fails the check until it is bound to the result it came from.

Research

CANAL-AI: federated learning on cardiovascular events of hormone therapy in prostate cancer. Research project.
