A Cobalt 0.3.1 owner attempting to install a current release sees “the address or credentials are invalid” when the old archive policy refuses the standalone launcher. Add a troubleshooting entry connecting that symptom to the documented one-time USB setup migration, and clarify that
kobo updatealone updates only the host command.Refs #154. Following the maintainer's request, manually installed the signed 0.3.9 stable package on the owner's Elipsa 2E over SSH. All 27 release files matched their checksums, Cobalt launched, and the on-device update check reported 0.3.9 as the newest release. The acceptance record includes the framebuffer capture and distinguishes manual migration/update discovery from an untested subsequent OTA install.
Validation: inspected the published archive and 0.3.1 path policy; macOS arm64 universal installer succeeded with explicit noninteractive/no-setup/no-path options; device launch and update discovery succeeded;
git diff --checkpassed. Documentation and evidence only: no runtime changes and no weakening of the deliberate legacy updater refusal. Does not close #154 or claim Beta/USB/browser installation was tested.Need help on this PR? Tag
