- Click the FetPost deploy button. DigitalOcean creates a private server for you, just yours, for about $5/month.
- Wait ~5 minutes for the server to come up.
- Visit the URL DigitalOcean gives you. FetPost's first-run wizard takes it from there.

You don't need to know anything about Linux, SSH, Node.js, or web servers. If you can use a web browser and you can copy a credit card number into a form, you can run FetPost.
- FetPost itself: free.
- The server it runs on: about $5/month, paid directly to DigitalOcean. You own the server. Alixzander & Co. doesn't see your credentials, your posts, or your community data.
- Optional Canva integration: free if you have a Canva account.
That's it. No monthly subscription, no usage limits, no upsells.
Your FetPost server is yours. It runs on a private DigitalOcean droplet you control. Alixzander & Co. doesn't host it, doesn't have access to it, and doesn't collect data from it. Your FetLife credentials, your posts, your community member data — all stay on your server.
When FetPost updates (we ship fixes whenever FetLife changes something on their end), your server fetches the new code from our public repository. We do not push anything to your server; your server pulls when it's ready.
