Tap a PDF. Read it. Swipe it away. You never left.
A tiny PDF viewer for Android that opens as a sheet over the app you are in, the way Quick Look does on iOS.

Opening a PDF on Android throws you into another app. Full screen, a loading animation, and when you are done you hunt for the way back to the email or chat you were reading.
QuickPDF slides the document up over whatever you were doing. The conversation stays right behind it. Read, zoom, copy a line, then swipe the sheet down and you are exactly where you were. Nothing extra in your recent apps, nothing to switch back to.
- A sheet, not an app. The PDF appears over the current app and the current app stays put.
- Fast. Opens instantly, scrolls a 300-page document without a stutter, and weighs about 180 KB.
- Every gesture you expect. Scroll and fling, pinch to zoom, double-tap to zoom in and out, long-press to select text.
- Copy and share text. Drag the handles, then Copy or Share.
- Search. Type a word and every match lights up on the page, with next and previous.
- Links work. Tap a web link to open it, tap a table-of-contents entry to jump there.
- Jump to any page. Tap the page counter, type a number, go.
- Protected PDFs. Enter the password and read.
- Hand it off. Share the file or open it in another app from the ⋮ menu.
- Leaves when you want. Swipe the sheet down, use the back gesture, tap ✕, or press Esc on a keyboard.
- Follows your theme. Light or dark chrome, pages always white.
- Private by design. No internet permission, no analytics, no ads, no PDF library from anyone else.
- Download the APK from the latest release and open it on your phone. Allow installing from your browser when asked.
- Open any PDF. Pick QuickPDF in the Open with sheet.
Android 15 or newer.
The first time you open a PDF, Android asks which app to use. Choose QuickPDF and tap Always.
If PDFs already open in another app without asking:
| You have | Do this |
|---|---|
| A Samsung phone | Settings → Apps → the app that opens PDFs now (often Samsung Notes or Drive) → Set as default → Clear defaults. Then open a PDF and choose QuickPDF, Always. |
| A Pixel or other Android | Settings → Apps → the app that opens PDFs now → Open by default → Clear default preferences. Then open a PDF and choose QuickPDF, Always. |
| Just this once | In your file manager, long-press the PDF → Open with → QuickPDF. |
| To | Do this |
|---|---|
| Close | Swipe the sheet down, swipe back, or tap ✕ |
| Zoom | Pinch, or double-tap to zoom in and again to zoom out |
| Select text | Long-press a word, drag the handles, then Copy or Share |
| Search | Tap 🔍, type, use ∧ and ∨ to move between matches |
| Jump to a page | Tap the 3 / 42 counter and type a page number |
| Share or open elsewhere | Tap ⋮ |
- A few apps insist on opening documents in a separate window. QuickPDF still works there; it simply arrives with the normal Android animation instead of sliding up over the app.
- Tapping a web link opens your browser, as you would expect. Swipe back to return to the document.
