That override is pinned to ^7.29.0 precisely to keep the babel chain on v7 — bumping it to v8 makes @babel/plugin-transform-runtime@8 require @babel/core@^8, which conflicts with the project's @babel/core@7 (required by @vitejs/plugin-react), re-triggering the npm ERESOLVE that #406 fixed. This pin must stay at v7; will add a renovate rule so it isn't re-proposed.
