Welcome to Ghost Clock! 🕰️ This app looks and works just like a regular alarm clock, but it has a hidden secret: it's actually a private, encrypted two-person chat app. Only you and your partner will know it exists.
- Looks normal: To anyone picking up your phone, it just looks like a simple alarm clock app.
- Hidden Secret: By entering a specific "secret time" as an alarm, it instantly unlocks a secure chatroom.
- Voice and Text: Send secure text and voice notes.
- Private & Encrypted: All messages are fully encrypted and securely stored.
To connect with your partner and start chatting privately, follow these steps. You only need to do this setup once.
On both phones (yours and your partner's), do the following:
- Open the "Clock" app.
- Add a new alarm and set the exact time to 08:04.
- Instead of saving an alarm, the app will magically transport you to a hidden "Setup Screen".
(Only ONE person needs do most of the work. The phones will link up automatically.)
- Person A (You): On the Setup screen, you will see a 'Your Key'. Tap the copy button to copy it.
- Share this Secret Key with Person B (Your Partner) using WhatsApp, SMS, or just reading it aloud.
- Person B (Your Partner): On their Setup screen, there is a field called "Partner's key". They need to paste the key you sent them into this box.
- Person B taps "Send Invite & Connect".
- Within a few seconds, Person A's phone will automatically detect the connection.
- The chat screen will immediately open on both phones!
- You are now securely connected. Whenever you want to chat again, just open the app and set an alarm for
08:04.
Q: Will notifications give it away?
No. If you get a message, the app sends a generic notification that looks like a regular alarm reminder (e.g., "Alarm scheduled").
Q: Can I change the secret 08:04 time?
Currently, it's set to 08:04 by default for simplicity, but the developer can customize this in future updates.
Q: Is it safe?
Yes. No one can access the chat unless they know the secret time trick AND already have a paired device.
