No Copilot models working

Description

When attempting to use this plugin several weeks ago, just after the change to make use of the new authentication style via sqlite3 databases I had a working solution. Since then it appears I made some form of change and can no longer get any working interactions with the models. I cannot find anything like my problem anywhere so it is likely a setting I am unaware of that I changed. I just don't know where else to turn to.

My intention has been to use this plugin in conjunction with CodeCompanion.nvim and since I was receiving errors such as a

when attempting to use CodeCompanion, I tried setting to default models and using the minimum config they provide. Neither changed result, so I figured the problem must be here with copilot.lua.

So I have tried multiple times to re-authenticate, revoke access and re-authenticate again, to no avail. This is both within the minimal configs, and with my typical configs. Occasionally, when trying :Copilot enable I would get an LSP crash log which, when reading the latest logs in either ~/.local/state/nvim/lsp.log or ~/.repro/state/nvim/lsp.log shows

Any help with or similar stories would be greatly appreciated. I cannot

I have now replicated this issue on three separate computers, with two different accounts, admittedly with copilot benefits both coming from github copilot student license. AFAI can tell, copilot.lua, and I think copilot.vim, think they are working and connected but there is no ghost text, no suggestions in the panel/split view, and no requests going through on CodeCompanion's side. I'm not sure if the error message from CodeCompanion's request is relevant, but it sure seems like it since Copilot.lua and copilot.vim both think they are fine when running :Copilot status.

Upon further research, it appears that as of June 24th, slightly after I last used copilot.lua, Github made the follow change. Model selection must now only occur via auto-selection. Perhaps I will try to make a PR to make this work, but for now, it appears that student licenses are locked out of using this unless I am missing something else.
