Describe the feature you'd like
Add a Colored status icons option for the Reader top status bar, matching the option that already exists for the Library status bar.
On a color device such as the Kindle ColorSoft, the Library/Home status bar can already show status icons in color, but the same icons remain monochrome in the top status bar while reading a book.
Ideally, the Reader option would reuse the same existing color logic as the Library status bar so the two views stay visually consistent.
For example:
- Wi-Fi uses the same connected/searching/off colors as the Library bar
- Battery uses the same level/charging colors as the Library bar
- Book title, time, chapter text, separators, etc. remain unchanged
- Default remains off so existing users see no visual change
Suggested location:
Settings > Reader > Top status bar > Colored status icons
Describe alternatives you've considered
A separate KOReader/user patch could potentially color the reader header, but ZenOS already provides and manages the Reader top status bar, so having this directly in ZenOS would be cleaner and avoid conflicting UI patches.
Additional context
This would improve consistency on color e-ink devices such as the Kindle ColorSoft: the status icons can be colored in ZenOS Library/Home views, but switch back to monochrome as soon as a book is opened.
Related issue #494 also shows that the Reader top status bar has its own status-item implementation, separate from the Library bar, so the existing Library setting does not currently carry over to the Reader.
