Seed idea in the Idea / Collaboration format. This one is pure collaboration hub β a global, parent-and-kid build crew.
The idea (or problem worth solving)
The curriculum is in English only. Millions of families who'd love it can't read it. Let's translate the curriculum β starting with Spanish, French, and Mandarin β as a worldwide crew, with kids helping their parents translate (a beautiful way to learn both the content and the language).
"Two are better than one... A threefold cord is not quickly broken." β Ecclesiastes 4:9β12
Who does this serve?
Non-English-speaking families everywhere β and the kid-translators, who learn entrepreneurship and practice their heritage language with a parent.
The four-question test
True β faithful translation, meaning preserved.
Legal & word kept β open content, credited contributors.
Serves β opens the whole hub to a family who couldn't use it before.
Proud to explain β kids and parents building together across the world? Yes.
Run the 5W1H lens (encouraged)
WHERE is the most need (which languages first)? HOW do we keep translations in sync as the English updates (a glossary + the CI link check help)? WHO reviews each language for tone, especially the kid-facing parts?
Who's needed to build it? (matching)
βοΈ Bilingual translators (any language β claim one below)
π οΈ Engineer β a README.<lang>.md convention + a tiny "translation status" page
π§ Reviewer per language β keep tone kid-warm
π€ AI agent β first-pass draft for a human to refine (never ship raw)
What I can bring
The source content, the file convention (README.es.md, README.fr.md, ...), and coordination. There's already a good first issue for the Spanish version of David's track.
Comment with your language + "I'll translate" or "we'll translate as a family" to match in. π
