We had a look at the current tests and @bvandersloot-mozilla's work in #105 and would like to propose changing things slightly. We don't synchronize settings changes with workers currently so we'd prefer not requiring that workers can adhere to dynamic settings changes just for this feature.
That seems well in the realm of things that user agents get to decide for themselves.
