How to set props of ShaderInputs

I want to set the indexMode of the picker to "custom".

Using shaderInputs.setProps does not work (maybe I need to update it somewhere?). When overriding the defaultUniforms directly it works as expected.

Example that DOES NOT work:

        this.shaderInputs = new ShaderInputs({
            picking: indexPicking,
        });

        this.shaderInputs.setProps({
            picking: {
                indexMode: "custom",
            }
        });

        this.picker = new PickingManager(this.device, {
            shaderInputs: this.shaderInputs,
        });

Example that DOES work:

        indexPicking.defaultUniforms.indexMode = 1;

        this.shaderInputs = new ShaderInputs({
            picking: indexPicking,
        });

        this.picker = new PickingManager(this.device, {
            shaderInputs: this.shaderInputs,
        });

Is this a bug or do I miss something here? Thanks in advance!

That particular uniform needs a translation from JS type to integer. Maybe that fails. Does it also fail for simpler numeric uniforms?
