Corrupt or damaged v0.1.0-beta.7_aarch64 build for macOS?

Problem

When opening the .dmg file download for VeloxDB v0.1.0-beta.7 the contained .app file is corrupt or damaged.

Troubleshooting

• Downloaded the file multiple times to different locations on the local disk.
• Cloning and building + running VeloxDB from source (pnpm tauri) works fine on same machine 👌

Environment

• M4 Macbook Pro
• macOS 26.3 (25D125)
• Download: veloxdb_0.1.0-beta.7_aarch64.dmg (From homepage or GH releases)

Hi @rbonestell, thanks for raising this! 🙏

The app appears corrupted because we haven't yet paid Apple's $99/year developer fee required to notarize the application. This is a known limitation we're actively working to resolve.

In the meantime, you can fix it by running this command in your Terminal:

xattr -cr /Applications/veloxdb.app

This removes the quarantine attribute macOS applies to unsigned apps, allowing it to run normally.

We're currently fundraising on Github Sponser to cover the Apple Developer Program cost once that's sorted, notarized builds will be available and this won't be an issue for future users. We appreciate your patience and support! 🎉
