Industrial lighting#9

Description

@francofusco

Hello! 馃憢

Whenever I start from a fresh build, the industrial environment looks fine, but all objects inside the scene are blue-ish. As an example, I have tried inserting a (white) car and an aruco-like marker. The result is the following:

This happens also with the rpg_gate (I haven't taken pictures yet, but I can do it if needed).

Anyway, I am able to correct this behavior by manually regenerating the lighting (for those in need: see below 猬囷笍), however this takes quite a while on my PC, I'd say about ~15-20 minutes. I am then able to rebuild the render, but often if I close Unity's editor and try to reopen the project later, I get a bunch of null pointer exceptions and the only consistent way I found to get it to work again is to restart from a fresh checkout of the project. This unfortunately means that I have to rebuild lighting again 馃槶 Since I am not familiar enough with how Unity works, I am unsure how to "permanently" fix this issue. Do you have any suggestion?

For sake of completeness, below is how the same scene looks like with regenerated lighting. Note that even the drone is blue-ish. Also, if I am not mistaken the same issue is present in the industrial scene in the precompiled render v0.0.5. I haven't tested other scenes/releases, sorry 馃槄

How to rebuild lighting

These are the steps I follow to manually fix the issue. I hope they can be helpful for others facing the same issue 鈽猴笍

  • Start the Editor
  • Open the project tree (if you do not see it, go in Window -> Panels -> Project)
  • Locate the industrial scene. It should be in Assets/Environments/Industrial/Scenes
  • Open Map_v1 (you might now get a warning that suggests you to rebuild the lighting)
  • Open the lighting window using Window -> Rendering -> Lighting
  • In the bottom right corner, you should see the Generate Lighting button - it is a drop-down button for me, but simply clicking on its center without changing anything else does the job
  • Rebuild the project as usual

Hopefully, objects are now rendered correctly, as in the second pic above 馃憤
