MiniTablineCurrent is indistinguishable from MiniTablineHidden on midnight

The colors look the same and active buffer is not "visible".
(Actually the yellow text color of the active buffer is different a little bit, but it is practically invisible.)
I have styles.bold = false.
If bold is enabled, the active buffer has the same colors, the text is just bold, so doesn't look very distinguishable from the list anyway.

Using midnight theme.
On other variants the issue is not present, the active buffer color is different.

A few months ago, the behavior was different, the active buffer was highlighted red.

I had booked some time today to look into this as I had a few other style changes that I wanted to make to midnight/desert/abyss. By the time I was done with those changes, had installed MiniTabline, and was ready to investigate this issue... I discovered that I accidentally ended up fixing this problem already as a result of the other changes that I pushed out earlier today.

Root cause: The color for MiniTablineCurrent and the inactive-tab border both resolved to different shades of khaki on Midnight (same for Abyss/Desert). So, active vs. inactive were nearly indistinguishable. I was much a fan of how much yellow was being used in those three palettes, so I changed the border color to red.

As a result of that border color change in 6626277, the inactive-tab color changed too, which resolved this issue as well. Now the active tab is yellow while inactive is red, like so:
