Filmography: list for "self" and character?

Hi all,

is there any way to retrieve the filmography of "self" (appearances as self)? Apparently, the categories additional crew, choreography, thanks, self and archive footage are not retrieved, but as of now I'm only really interested in "self".

Also, is there a way to retrieve the actor filmography together with the character the actor played?

Hi , thanks for the report. Could you clarify whether you’re asking for a new feature (support for “self” credits and returning character names) or whether you need help using the current library? The README explains which filmography categories imdbinfo currently parses; if you haven’t already, please take a look and then share an example so I can investigate.

1. "Self" etc.: I just figured out that (at least for self) you just have to add it in the categories list in services.py. So I guess it's solved for me and I suggest you add additional categories when they work out of the box (I got "self", "thanks" and "archive_footage" to work. Not sure what the keyword for choreography/choreographer is, neither works for me). I didn't and don't see any information on the categories parsed on the README page, by the way.

2. Character names: I know how to get the characters for the entire cast of a movie and I can get the filmography of an actor with basic infos about the movies. If I understand correctly the character isn't parsed for the filmography and the movie isn't a "full movie object", so I guess I'd have to parse each film separately and look for the actor in the cast list (which would be overkill for me)? Or - if the character IS retrieved with get_filmography - I don't know how to print it. :)

3. The episodes in the filmography is a feature request, I suppose. I know it hasn't worked with cinemagoer for a while (last I checked, anyway), so I guess it's not easily done. I parsed it myself for a while and when that stopped working I went on to look it up in the downloadable database IMDB provides. Which does the job most of the time for me, but it isn't nice and it isn't up to date and it would be nice to be able to get it with imdbinfo in the future. :)
