running mcjoin on ubuntu vm on esxi

Hey all,

Anyone got any experience with running mcjoin on a vm created with vmware esxi?

I have two interfaces on this vm running ubunti 24.4.2 LTS. 1 connecting to management network so i can always acces sthe vm and the other connects to test network. For some reason when starting mcjoin i see the route tables being filled correctly in the path from multicast source to vm, but the mcjoin simply doesnt show it in the overview.
When i run a tcpdump on the specific interface i do see the traffic.

i looked into the obvious things and checked syctl config and settings etc but that doesnt bring me the solution.
