Will VWsFriend's Polling Interval Kill My 12V Battery? #773
|
Hello, I’m new to electric vehicles and have had an ID.3 for two weeks. I recently discovered this portal and have a question about online usage. I’ve read repeatedly that accessing data via the VW app drains the 12-volt battery, which can apparently lead to problems. How does this work with VWsFriend? If I understand the UI correctly, the online data is only retrieved when the car is charging or driving, plus a short delay until the car is shown as offline again. I’m not sure how short the polling interval should be. Is the default 300-second interval safe for long-term use, or will it eventually drain the 12V battery? Thanks and best regards, Leif |

The data is only fetched from the server, the vehicle does not wake up. |

Thanks for the answer. I was a little bit confused, because of the message "Last update from the car", so it's also a information form the server. |
