No issues with Owntracks. I use "Move" mode. Locatorinterval is 180 seconds. Works reliably for months. |

I use Dawarich. Seems to work pretty well. It has iOS shortcuts support. So, I have it set to start tracking everyday at say 6 AM. So, in case it stops tracking for some reason, it would start back up the next day at 6. |

Started testing OwnTracks about a week ago. Works fine though it requires some documentation reading and configuration. I set up "+follow" region and enable "significant" mode most of the time. This makes good enough approximate movement history with low battery consumption. Below "move" is precise location tracking and "significant" is iOS's "track location when iPhone has moved 500m+ in less than 5min". Both modes also work with regions (a.k.a. geofences, waypoints). It is also possible to automatically switch tracking modes when entering and leaving specific regions. It can switch from "move" to "significant" when the battery level goes low. Setting "downgrade:40" means it'll switch to "significant " when your battery level drops below 40% and switch back when battery level goes higher than 40%. And most cool, with "+follow" region and "adapt" setting enabled, it can detect that you're not moving anymore, and switch from "move" to "significant". And then, when you start moving again, leaving the "+follow" region switches tracking modes back to "move". |
Uh oh!

Hi everyone, my wife's got a iphone and I'm struggling to get it to work nicely with this. We've tried using home assistant and also overland. I am not having much success despite adjusting all settings. Somehow keeps gettings killed or cut off. I'm always noticing data gaps of large scale. Android phones don't seem to suffer this issue. Anyone else have any suggestions?
