Dealing with the tiny microSD cards is not fun and I find myself doing it frequently to add software to the card. I would love it if this project could incorporate a microSD to SD adapter which would allow using an SD card at the front of the device. I think it would look pretty neat too since it would more resemble a "real" drive where you insert a disk at the front.
Here's an example of a converter with a length of cable between each end I found at Amazon.
I could hack it together myself but I'm sure you could design something which looks much nicer!
