I have Google Gemini Ultra.

Why can't I use a Google AI Studio API key for Nano Banana Pro use with SparkVSR?

Fal.ai is one of many services that use multiple services including Nano Banana Pro.

Why use just this service? Is this some kind of paid promotion or something?

Yes, different Nano-Banana-Pro API access methods can be used. SparkVSR itself is not tied to fal.ai. We only integrated the fal.ai API in the released code as one example implementation for obtaining Nano-Banana-Pro reference frames; this is not a paid promotion or an endorsement of a specific service.

If you would like to use Google AI Studio / Gemini API or another provider, you can modify the API-calling logic in finetune/utils/ref_utils.py and replace it with your actual API call. As long as the generated reference images follow the expected format, they should be compatible with SparkVSR.
