Describe the bug
Active editor does not survive a kernel quit. Renders well but internals are not reinitialized properly. Opening a notebook again or just opening it in a fresh session works well.

IGGraphEditor[Graph[{1 -> 2}], VertexSize -> Small]
Kill the kernel
