BYOD is not a data viewer but a metadata search and browsing tool. Therefore, showing the content of datasets (Shape Files, Spreadsheets, etc.) is beyond the scope of this application.
However, SWITCH-ON's Standard Information Model for Meta-Data (SIM) offers the possibility to assign alternate or additional representations to a resource. Such 'preview' data is currently used to link TMS or WMS Layers with certain datasets (e.g. Corine Landcover Data). Preview Data (alternate WMS / TMS Links) is evaluated by BYOD's map component (lefaltet.js).
Additional preview representations (e.g. screenshots, plots, diagrams, etc.) can be generated for certain resources and shown in BYOD. Note: The generation of preview resources a manual task that has to be performed e.g. by summerworkers.
