Chinese characters display garbled

Suggestions provided in Chinese may display as garbled text, but when accepted using the tab key, the content appears normally.

Yeah, looks like a character encoding issue. Probably the text is being mishandled between input and display. We had something similar when we were parsing multilingual CSVs — turns out the default encoding was messing things up.

If you're not already doing this, make sure you're explicitly setting UTF-8 encoding wherever you're handling text. For example, if you're using Python, double-check your file read/write logic:

with open("your_file.txt", "r", encoding="utf-8") as f:
    content = f.read()

Or if it's a frontend thing, verify the <meta charset="UTF-8"> tag is in your HTML head. Also, if this is happening when passing suggestions, are you sure the app isn’t accidentally coercing strings to ASCII at some step? Saw that once with an older pandas version.
