Poster overlays (resolution, display profile and audio profile)

What's the feature?

It would be great to have small pill shaped overlays in the corners of each poster, which is one of my favourite features of Silo (see here for reference).

Why? When would you use it?

To quickly see the resolution (eg. 4k) and other info at a glance.

This is now on main, and it looks a lot like the Silo reference: small pills in the top-left corner of poster and Continue Watching cards, showing resolution (4K, 1080p, 720p, SD), dynamic range (DV, HDR10+, HDR10, HLG) and spatial audio (ATMOS, DTS:X).

It is opt-in, under Settings → Appearance → "Poster badges", and the reason is worth stating plainly, because only half of what the pills show is cheap. Resolution comes from the item's own width and height, which Jellyfin reads straight off the item row, so it rides along with the card query and costs nothing. Dynamic range and spatial audio only exist in MediaStreams, and answering that field costs the server a media-source lookup per item, which is the same cost that made library grids slow to open earlier this year. So those two are never part of the card query: they are fetched after the screen is already drawn, batched at forty ids per request, and cached for the session. Turning the setting off puts every one of those requests back to zero.

Two things worth knowing before turning it on:

• A series has no streams of its own in Jellyfin, so a series poster is sampled from its newest episode. A show whose first seasons are 1080p and whose latest is 4K will read as 4K.
• SDR and plain 5.1 deliberately paint nothing. An empty corner means "nothing special here" rather than "still loading", and three pills on every card would be noise.

Verified on an Apple TV against a real library. Feedback welcome, especially if the pills feel too large on your screen: their size is one number and easy to adjust.
