At the Solar in Sonoma meeting, there was some discussion about how the origin of the wave could be automatically determined for rotation purposes. We could:
Read in a location automatically, for example from a flare catalogue.
Use an algorithm to analyse the images and estimate the wavefront origin.
Some combination of 1) and 2).
4)...?
Some of the discussion suggested that option 1) could lead to significant errors, as the wavefront origin is often not the same as an active region or flare location.
