The following are first time setup instructions
Setting up the SD Card
Put the micro SD card you will be using for the PI into a computer with an SD card slot
Download the program Etcher from this link https://etcher.io/
Run the installer and and then run Etcher
Etcher will ask you to choose an image file
Download Raspbian(The operating system for the raspberry pi) from this link https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian/ and download the Raspbian Stretch With Desktop ZIP
Once it is done downloading, choose the raspbian zip file in etcher
Choose the SD card to write to in etcher
Click flash and wait until it is complete this will take several minutes
Setting up the Pi
Put the SD card into the pi connect a mouse, keyboard, monitor and power cable
Follow the initial set up and connect it to a wifi network or to lan with an ethernet cable
It will ask if you want to check for updates you can skip this
Put all the files from the zip file onto the desktop
Updating Python to work with the alexa program and the GUI program
open a terminal and type
cd Desktop
chmod +x upgrade.bat
Close the terminal and all other progams
Double click upgrade.bat and choose execute in terminal
lots of stuff will happen and within a few seconds it will ask if you want to continue
type Y then press enter
This will happen one or two more times. just press Y and enter
The rest will take about 15 minutes to complete.
When it is done the terminal will close.

Running the programs
To run the Alexa program double click startAlexa.bat and choose execute in terminal
To run the GUI program double click the controller.py program and choose execute
To close the GUI program press the escape key on the keyboard
To stop the alexa program close the terminal it is running in

Configuring the controller.py program
Double click the controller.py file and press open
The program will open in a code editor
This will allow you to edit the program just like a text file
The options you can change is the section in code that is designated between hashtags

The first set of options are colors
You can find a list of colors you can choose from here https://wiki.tcl.tk/37701
If you want to change a color then delete the words between the quotes and replace it with the color you want.
Keep the capitalization exactly as it shows on the website
Don't change anything outside of the quotes
Next is the font size
You can change the number between the quotes if you want a larger or smaller font
The next several options are for the text on the buttons
You can replace the words in the quotes with the text that you want to appear on the button
The buttons are labeled 1-6
1 being the left most button and 6 being the bottom left button
The next several options are for the image that you want on the button
To change the image on the button the image must be the right correct size and also be in the "images" folder for the program to find it
Change the name between the quotes to the exact name of the picture you want in the images folder. Make sure you include the file extension
The image sizes must be the following
buttonN Image: width x height
button1 Image: 100x300
button2 Image: 150x300
button3,4,5,6 Image: 185x150
The final option is the active time for the actuator
This value is NOT in quotes
This value is the time in seconds
Delete the number and you can replace it with any whole number
Do not use a decimal point
This will be the time the relay is open for when a button is pressed in seconds
