yeah, you can use mkOutOfStoreSymlink with home manager. it symlinks the config out of the read-only nix store so nirimod can write directly to your dotfiles repo.

xdg.configFile."niri/config.kdl".source = config.lib.file.mkOutOfStoreSymlink "${config.home.homeDirectory}/path/to/your/dotfiles/niri/config.kdl";

nirimod follows symlinks when saving, so it updates your source file and niri hot-reloads instantly. there's a section on this in the readme if you need more details.
