I like productive low-hype tools like Ruby on Rails, Ember, SvelteKit. and community radio.
There's a good chance my tracking number project that started in 2010 has helped an online order get to you at some point along the way1. I think the hidden data baked right into a tracking number is kinda interesting, and regex is fun.
I maintain and develop Graphiti, the best currently maintained JSON:API framework for Rails. JSON:API can eliminate so much API-design bike shedding, and it deserves love and support.
I built an open source audio player that New York Public Radio used for all its websites, and now powers community radio stations on Dubbletrack, a platform I started for helping community radio stations make better radio and connect with their listeners. "There's a lot of money in community radio", said no one. But I've been running it anyway since 2018, because I believe in the power of connected communities, open mediums, and human-to-human based music discovery.
Sponsorship is what lets me say yes more to life-affirming useful projects that deserve a place, despite them not being "profitable".
