What I build

I'm José Franco — software architect, 18 years shipping systems that can't afford to go down (Globant, Frubana, Techint). For the last three I've been pointing that same discipline at markets, and open-sourcing the tooling as I go.

Everything here is code I actually run:

  • ticker-reference-data — rebuilt daily.
Splits the vendor missed, ticker renames resolved by CIK, halts since 2019. Reference data is never "done" — the market keeps renaming things.
  • mt5-docker-api — MetaTrader 5 in Docker with a REST + WebSocket API. Run MT5 on any OS, drive it from Python.
  • strategy-orb15-momentum — Opening Range Breakout with a reproducible backtest and walk-forward validation. Results are in the repo; no return promises.
  • propreports-auto-exporter and
ibkr-auto-exporter — GitHub Actions that export your trading data every day, with account obfuscation built in.
  • sekd — SEC filings decoded in the terminal: dilution risk, warrants and shelf capacity surfaced from S-3s and 10-Qs.
  • quant-llm-skills — LLM skills that don't fall for lookahead bias, survivorship or unrealistic transaction costs. 11 reproducible evals.

I trade my own account and publish the entire record — 5,600+ trades with equity curve, drawdown and profit factor, red days included. That's the standard I hold thecode to: if I won't show the losses, I won't ship the tool.

Why sponsor

None of this is behind a paywall, and it isn't going to be. But it isn't free to run either — market data subscriptions, broker API access, the pipelines that rebuild datasets every night, and the weekends that go into issues, docs, and keeping exporters alive every time a vendor changes a schema without warning.

Sponsoring keeps the tools free, maintained and documented. The full breakdown of what each tier
includes — and what it deliberately does not cover — is in SPONSORS.md.

The Discord is open to everyone and always will be. Sponsorship buys access to the working material, not to the room.
