Free software is for everyone.

Proprietary software can create dependencies that users and organizations are unable to fully inspect, control, or repair themselves. When critical parts of a system are closed, security ultimately depends on the vendor’s decisions, responsiveness, and continued support.

Free and open-source software offers a different model. Its behavior can be examined, vulnerabilities can be independently identified, and fixes are not limited to a single provider. Openness does not automatically make software secure, but it makes security more transparent, auditable, and accountable.

I believe good security should be open security, and good software should respect the people who use it. Ethical software gives users meaningful control over their machines, allows others to study and improve the work, and does not unnecessarily restrict how technology can be adapted or extended.

That is the kind of software I want to build: open, understandable, independent, and useful to everyone.
