I'm Lanie. I'm a blind, autistic, and chronically ill writer, advocate, and software developer. I build free, open-source accessible tools because the tools that existed didn't work for me.
My main projects are:
- Everrealm - a screen-reader-first kingdom-building strategy game designed for blind and multiply disabled players. Built with NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and Orca compatibility from the ground up.
- WordPredictor - an NVDA add-on that provides word prediction using n-gram analysis, built because existing prediction tools didn't work with screen readers.
I'm also a writer at lanie.work, where I cover disability, technology, faith, and the parts of disabled life that don't fit into advocacy talking points.
I live in long-term care and I'm working toward a group home. My coding capacity is limited by cognitive decline, so I now direct development rather than writing code hands-on. Sponsorship helps me cover the costs of keeping these tools free and accessible for the people who need them.
If my work has helped you or someone you know, your support makes a real difference.
