Question: where do I find the SPDX spec version in the generated model file?

In the model file for 3.1 on GitHub.io, I didn't see a version for 3.1 other than in the creation information.

There is an owl:versionIR we could use, but it would need a modification to the spec parser to generate.

With the change to only use the major version in the IRI, we will need some way to identify the spec version.

@JPEWdev @zvr - let me know if I missed something or if the generated model file is stale.

You are correct, @goneall. With our new setup, there is no such information in the generated data.

Just to be more precise about what you are asking: Are you asking for the value "3.1" (i.e., "x.y"), or something more accurate (like, "from 3.1.2, generated on 2026-08-03") ?

In any case, this information would have to be passed as a command-line parameter in the spec-parser. I can provide the code.

The SEMVER would be perfect - e.g. 3.1.2-RC1.

I would suggest putting this string in owl:versionInfo.

I just noticed that there is a blank versionIRI in the current generated .ttl file:

owl:versionIRI spdx: ;

We could use this instead of or in addition to owl:versionInfo. as long as I get easily parse out the SEMVER of the spec version.

Ah - yes, now I remember. Since the ontology version will be different from the prefix, we may need to generate a different string.
