Same for mac and linux?

Does anyone know a way to achieve the same monitor but in a cross-platform way?
Is there an equivalent of the GetAsyncKeyState function on Mac and Linux?
Extra cool if the same was found on Android and/or iOS.

I googled system API equivalents for this on the aforementioned OS but I guess I'm dumb enough to find nothing useful.
